The people behind Rain City Dog Walks

Rain City Dog Walks has been caring for North Seattle dogs since 2003.

We're a small, experienced team - a certified dog trainer and behavior consultant, and a dedicated park adventure handler -  with a shared commitment to positive, welfare-centered care for every dog we work with.

Nadja

Founder · Certified Dog Trainer & Behavior Consultant

I started Rain City Dog Walks in 2003, and for over two decades this work has been my focus,  helping North Seattle dogs get the care, enrichment, and skilled handling they need to live well in a busy city.

What sets Rain City apart from most dog walking services is the training background behind everything we do. I'm a graduate of the Victoria Stilwell Academy (VSA), a Certified Family Dog Mediator (FDM), and a Fear Free Certified Professional.

My FDM certification is grounded in applied ethology - the scientific study of the behavior of domesticated, confined, or managed animals - and is where I draw the L.E.G.S. framework from: the understanding that every dog's behavior is shaped by their Learning history, Environment, Genetics, and Self. That lens informs how I approach every dog I work with.

I'm also a continuing education junkie. Dog behavior science keeps evolving, and I think it's important to keep up. Recent courses include the Aggression in Dogs Master Course, Click to Calm for Instructors through Karen Pryor Academy, Cooperative Canine Care with Deb Jones through Fenzi Dog Sports Academy, and Cooperative Care at Home with Laura Monaco Torelli through KPA. All of this informs how I handle dogs day to day, including on a routine walk.

Whether your dog needs a reliable neighborhood walk, structured skill-building, reactivity support, or in-home enrichment, you're getting someone who genuinely understands behavior.

I'm here for the dogs who need a little extra thought and patience, and for the owners who want someone who'll actually notice what's going on with their dog and respond to it with knowledge and experience.

Kerry

Founder . Dog Park Adventures Handler

For years I've been making sure Seattle's dogs get what they need most: room to run, time to play, and a pack of trusted friends.

As the lead handler for our off-leash Dog Park Adventures, I focus on creating a safe, enriching environment where dogs can explore, socialize, and just be dogs.

Every outing is more than exercise, it's a chance for your dog to build confidence, enjoy off-leash play, and engage their senses in a way leashed walks can't match.

When your dog joins our regular crew, they're part of a consistent group with a reliable handler who knows them well and pays attention to how they're doing every single day.
